Add POSTGIS extension to Azure Postgres Database – Worked Example

Firstly we need to allow for the extension on the server.
Within the Azure portal navigate to server parameters

Search for azure.extensions

Select which extensions to add
REMEMBER to save before exit!

Wait a short period while the extension is loaded onto the server..

Some points
Azure Database for PostgreSQL supports a subset of key PostgreSQL extensions as listed HERE. This information is also available by running SHOW azure.extensions;. Extensions not listed in this document aren’t supported on Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Flexible Server. You can’t create or load your own extension in Azure Database for PostgreSQL.

After extensions are allow-listed and loaded, these must be installed in your database before you can use them. To install a particular extension, you should run the CREATE EXTENSION command. This command loads the packaged objects into your database.

The extension(s) should now be listed against your database.

PHP Runner : Tips and Tricks – Reload a page from event that belongs to a button

For example on a page we have a button that parses text coming in.

1. Add the following code to Javascript OnLoad event of the table in question

window.tablePage = pageObj

2. Add the following code to any Javascript event where you want to reload the table. Can be ClientAfterevent of any button

if( window.tablePage ) {
window.tablePage.reload({a:'reload'});
}

As far as I can tell what you name the pageObj in this case tablePage is up to you – at the point of naming you are creating this variable.
My hunch is that you would want to name this something relating to the page and something not overly complicated but unique.

The ClientAfterevent references the same pageObj for page refresh.

My understanding of the way the code works is.
On loading the page create a pageObj variable named window.tablePage

After pressing the button if there is a pageObj variable named window.tablePage refresh it!

Chrome UPDATE – Running a web site in Application mode using a BAT file

I’m running Google Version 84.0.4147.135 (Official build) (64-bit) and last week I noticed that Chrome seemed to update the way you create applications on the desktop. And when setting up new applications there seems to be an ugly introduction of the URL sometimes. Annoying.

I found a source that indicated that you could run a website in application mode by running the following at command line.
This results in a really nice chrome window with your chosen web site within it.

start Chrome.exe --app=https://bbc.co.uk

So I went old school to get a link on desktop!
